The Serbian Heritage Museum was founded in 1987

When the Museum opened a small collection of books and other documents were obtained to create a research library that would support the work of the curator. Over the years, the SHM research library grew in a large part to the generous donations of patrons. Today the Museum has collected a wide-range of books, periodicals, journals and various other documents that have aided the Museum in its goal of preservation and research.

“Without documentation, we have no history, we have no past. Without documented history, we don’t exist,” as wisely stated by former SHM curator + Mrs. Stanislava Markovich. The importance of research must carry on and be an essential function of the Serbian Heritage Museum as we represent a vibrant faction in the community.

The SHM library collection is available to staff and volunteers of the Serbian Heritage Museum.

If you are interest in becoming a volunteer of the Museum and would like the opportunity to work with the library collection please get involved.
