A Peek into Our Collection

20 Jul 2020 There are no tags

Created using the Museum’s own collection. This exhibit displays items that hold cultural, social, and political significance in Serbian life from the late eighteenth to the nineteenth century. It includes a collection of texts from important Serbian writers, a Serbian dictionary by Vuk Karadzic, coins, military medals, jewelry, musical instruments, hand-woven tapestry, and much more. We recommend that you visit us and explore this amazing collection.

This video gives a detailed look at the exhibit itself on the evening of its official opening. It also shows the opening remarks and the full version of the lecture presented by Father Vladimir Vranić on the evening of August 27th, 2019 at the Serbian Centre in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Unseen Colours and Emotions Art Exhibit

17 Aug 2019 There are no tags

The Serbian Heritage Museum welcomes Brian back to his hometown of Windsor. We think of Brian as part of our Serbian family, after all, he spent 10 years managing the Serbian Centre. He has come back with a gift for our community and his hometown. He has, certainly, made us proud!

Here is a short video that he prepared for the Museum to run during his exhibit. Get a feel for how he gets his inspiration and then creates his amazing works of art. Enjoy!

And here is a picture from the exhibit!

The Heriot Boys

31 Jan 2019 There are no tags

The final of five commemorative First World War exhibits focuses on the lives of the Heriot boys.

27 boys, who survived the Great Serbian Retreat over the Albanian mountains during WW1 were taken in by the George Heriot’s School in Scotland. They excelled in their studies and became sports heroes. They became the first Serbian Rugby team.

The Grand Event was, certainly, an evening to remember!

Thank you Alan Cumming for the fine video welcome from Scotland!

The evening’s video and photos tell the story.

Another successful opening reception.  Two of the three artists were able to attend the opening.  It was a pleasure to host such a lovely event.  The exhibition will be up until July 22, 2016.  Come and have a look and perhaps you will be tempted to purchase an original work of art for your home.
