New Items Available in the Gift Shop!
For that special someone Serbian, visit the museum gift shop. Choise are too numerous to mention, but for Orthodox Christians we have gold and silver crosses, bracelets, kandile, a variety of T-shirts, and new, hand painted Christmas ornaments (each one is one of a kind!). Museum hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12 pm – 2:30 pm, or by appointment. Please call the Serbian Centre at 519-944-4884
University Lecture on “The History and Traditions of Serbian Orthodox Weddings”
On September 22nd, 2022 Father Vladimir Vranic held a lecture from request of the University of Windsor’s UNI-COM Retirement Learning Centre on the history and traditions of Serbian Orthodox Weddings. This beautiful lecture provided in depth knowledge of the customs surrounding this topic! Visit from the Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism of Ontario
On Wednesday July 27th 2022, we were honoured to be visited by Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism of Ontario Michael Ford and MPP for Windsor-Tecumseh Andrew Dowie. Our guests learned about the items on display, the history of our museum and Serbian culture. The conversation included opportunities for the Ontario government to support museums and employment. A photograph by Bozidar Vitas of Sopotnica Waterfalls in southwestern Serbia was presented to Minister Ford to commemorate his visit. Check out the pictures from the visit below!
